Wedding Party

One of Zac’s oldest and most trusted friends, Riley brings an unmatched blend of wisdom, integrity, and calm clarity. From anime marathons and mountain treks to city wide hide-and-seek and midnight parkour attempts, he’s stood beside Zac through his most elemental and shamanistic chapters. A seeker, a guide, and a true brother in spirit, Riley is who Zac turns to when the path is unclear. He was chosen to officiate this ceremony not just for his steady mind, but because he carries the kind of energy that opens hearts, stills the noise, and reminds us we’re standing in something sacred.

For over 20 years, Alex has been Zac’s ride-or-die through it all, a burnination enthusiast, sea shanty singer, and piano headbanger legend. And no, that last one be no jest, he used to transform the school library into a concert hall with his powerful performances, and he still does at a public piano near you. He and his family run Tamarind Vietnamese Grill downtown, where the curry soup is one of Emmy’s all-time favorite dishes. Zac often shows up there to delve into winding conversations on politics, nature, and everything in between with this brilliantly well-read gent. The kind of friend who shows up, never leaves anyone behind, and somehow makes every gathering, a legendary time.

One of the most driven and open-hearted people Zac has ever had the good fortune to meet, Luqman is the kind of friend who will move mountains to help others succeed. That spirit is woven into everything he does, founding not one but two companies: an English learning academy and an immigration consulting firm that has helped reunite families and support people fleeing war-torn regions. Beyond the big missions, Zac and Luqman have shared countless city adventures, tracing hidden trails across Calgary. They’ve walked the length and breadth of Nose Hill Park more times than memory can hold. Luqman is a most triumphant force of inspiration who protects his people fiercely, yet somehow always ends up the life of the party.

Derek Gastle
